My telco DiGi telecom gives me extra 50% Birthday Reload Bonus when I reload my prepaid phone during the week of my birthday up to a maximum of RM50.00. Since this is free, why not donate part of it to charity such as World Wildlife Foundation "Save Our Turtles" program. The program allows people to donate via SMS where you can use your free reload credit. Just type WWF <space> Your full name <space> Email and send to 39398 then RM3 will be deducted from your account to WWF.

Chan Kong Choy said he is supprise by the police force's move to reduce traffic fines by as much as 50%. They do so on the ground of discouraging people to pay bribe to police.

Doing so the police is putting the blame of bribes on the people and not the force. And they naively believe people bribe is because of the amount of money, actually most of the time I heard from 'kopitiam' (cafe) conversation is people are lazy to travel to the police station to pay summons. I wonder where they have the statistic to proof money is the reason to reduce fine. Internal Security and Public Order Director Commissioner Datuk Mustafa Abdullah responded by saying his dept got the power to do so without consulting Chan's ministry which is the transport ministry.

Conclusion, this expose a few weakness with the administration

1. Either Chan or Mustafa is not clear about their power. If Mustafa doesn't report to Chan, who is his boss? Is police not part of government?

2. The execution force has no respect for the people elected government. Same case as th MPPJ issue with billboards.

3. Administration officers make decision without statistic and solid proof. They do it out of their guts.

4. Who is going to be responsible when the accidents rates indeed increase next year? I already heard friends they don't care about speeding since the fine so low.

Just got a email from Tracy Rudl that her husband Corey Rudl had passed away in a car accident.

I met Corey few years ago in Malaysia Nation Achievers Congress. He is a famous Internet marketing expert which teaches and consults business to market on the Internet. A young chap at his thirties which made his fortune by marketing stuff on the net, he later venture into consulting business to help people did the same thing.

Hope God's blessing will be on his family as they go thru this moment of sorrow and mourning.

At last Donald Trump comes out with another radical idea to make more bucks for his pockets.

With Trump U online, anyone anywhere will get a shot of becoming a virtual 'Apprentice' and picks up business tactcs from the master himself.

Read about the Trump University at BusinessWeek website here. As describe on the articles Trump U offer not degree courses but more of a DIY course for entrepreneurs wannabe.

For USD300 per course I think I would be really keen to enroll one myself. But hold on first before you switch your browser to Google. Trump U is no where to find on the Net yet so we have to wait for some time before more details are revealed.

My First Labor Day in China

Labor day holidays is when Chinese got their 3 times week-long holidays in a year. This is the time when those working in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai plan their trip back to home town. This is also an opportunity for people to plan their holiday trip.

As a foreigner working here, I choose to stay in Beijing and do some reading on my own. This is also a time to catch up on writing some technical documents for my project. I guess it would cost a lot to travel in peak season, and I don't like the crowd.

In this case I would post something interesting here for the week. So stay tuned...
